I have specialized in working with people with BFRBs for over 6 years. I have successfully treated others between the ages of 6 and 70 for over 30 years. My experience has been in a variety of mental health settings, including community mental health centers and several private practices. I was licensed as a psychologist in Ohio in 1988. Another specialty is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I have also treated a variety of other conditions that often are seen in people experiencing BFRBs, including depression, other anxiety disorders, ADHD, alcohol/substance abuse, and relationship issues. Training
I received my primary training in treating BFRBs from The TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors' Professional Training Institute (PTI) in 2010. Since then, I've attended six of the National TLC Conferences on BFRBs to keep up on the latest developments, to personally speak with and consult with the pioneers of BFRB treatment, as well as to interact with the BFRB community. I've also done multiple presentations at four of those Conferences, as well as a one day presentation in October, 2015 in Cleveland, Ohio. TLC sends me research articles several times a year to be up to date with resources. I've also attend two International Obsessive Compulsive Disorders Behavior Therapy Training Institutes (BTTI) which both included training in working with BFRBs from psychologists who are also TLC members. Over several decades, I've received much additional training for Anxiety Disorders, CBT, and Brief Therapy through continuing education, as well as consultation and ongoing professional reading.
My doctoral internship was done at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio in 1984-1985.
